Tipping point of Robsession?

Colleen Joyce from IMDB wrote this article about TayTay's photo shoot playing football at the beach. One of the interesting opinion that caught me is when she mentioned that if Rob did the same photo shoot, would that really make fans *THUD* peacefully with a smile on the face? he he he.

Article is below.

Hut, hut, hike! Yes, that is the one and only Tay Tay playing football in the surf while apparently shooting the cover for Rolling Stone. Who knew football could be so much fun! Taylor Lautner is the All-American guy and that is why everyone is in love with him, that and his incredible assets. What would fans do if Robert Pattinson roughed around in the sand and surf? For many that would be the tipping point and their obsession would become full blown, if it isn't already.

The Haunted Airman

Oh goodness, everyone wants to ride the cash cow. Sorry for referring you as the cow, Rob...just a figure of speech.
Rob's old movie is now going to debut here in the U.S.. MTV has a feature about it. Thanks Larry Caroll for this article.

Over the last year or so, he has become one of the most closely scrutinized celebrities in the entire world. Every time Robert Pattinson sneezes, it seems like 12 supermarket tabloids run a cover story. So, how is it that the "Twilight" saga superstar could be surprising his fans with a brand-new film that comes out next week?
"The Haunted Airman" premieres on DVD on Tuesday, a release date that has taken even RPattz's most loyal fans (who've scrambled to see such little-known flicks as "How to Be" and "Little Ashes") by surprise. It has had little to no publicity on any of Rob's fan sites, and there is little written about the film online.
"This Halloween, 'Twilight' heartthrob Robert Pattinson takes a break from playing the vampire Edward Cullen and tries life as a human in a spine-tingling WWII-era ghost story," begins a press release sent to reporters this week announcing the film's impending release. "The supernatural thriller 'The Haunted Airman' stars Pattinson as a wounded Royal Air Force pilot tormented by psychological horrors and a slow descent into madness. Julian Sands ('Ocean's Thirteen,' '24') and Rachael Stirling ('The Young Victoria,' 'Still Crazy') add to the suspense with supporting roles. The film, based on the best-selling 1948 novel 'The Haunting of Toby Jugg' by Dennis Wheatley, premieres to U.S. audiences on DVD via E1 Entertainment on October 13."
Considering that even his not-made films are followed with a fervor, the big question is a simple one: Where did this "lost" Robert Pattinson movie come from? The answer may be as spooky as the ghost story itself.
Filmed five years ago, "The Haunted Airman" was one of Pattinson's first paid gigs as an actor and was shot in the U.K. as "The Haunting of Toby Jugg." The 68-minute movie aired on BBC television in October of 2006 — two years before "Twilight" would make Pattinson a household name. Cast in the title role, RPattz plays a disabled WWII soldier.
"Flight Lieutenant Toby Jugg, confined to a wheelchair after being wounded in combat, arrives at a remote mansion in Wales to recuperate," the new press release says of the film's plot. "Suffering terrible nightmares and visions, he suspects the methods of his psychiatrist, Dr. Hal Burns (Sands). Though his beautiful aunt Julia (Stirling) seems to be the only person he can trust, circumstances arise that cause him to doubt even her intentions. Is the lieutenant the victim of an eerie paranormal haunting, or a cruel conspiracy tied to his past?"
Although the release (and the film's artwork) is undoubtedly aimed at Rob's enormous "Twilight" fanbase, the movie features a much-younger-looking Pattinson.
"Just as the buzz for the Twilight saga's 'New Moon' begins to reach a fever pitch prior to its November premiere," the press release teases, " 'The Haunted Airman' — in the vein of blood-curdlers 'The Others' and '1408' — delivers Pattinson and otherworldly chills to his legions of fans!"
But will his legions want to watch the film? Stay tuned, as we'll have more details on "The Haunted Airman" in the next few days.

Rob's weekly news wrap

Examiner.com has an excellent weekly news wrap for our favorite vampire:

Robert Pattinson has done a good job of staying off the radar in the past few weeks. However, there is a bit of news to mention from this past week and the weekend.
Charlie Bewley, Pattinson's co-star who takes the role of Demetri in the Twilight Saga: New Moon, spoke to Hollywood.com about Rob last week. Bewley discussed his empathy for Rob in terms of being sought out and targeted by the paparazzi:
"I feel sorry for him a little bit ... He's like a paparazzi fugitive right now. He can't leave his house. He's the most photographed person in the world."

Rumors that Pattinson would be taking on a role in Peter Berg's upcoming film, Dune, were shot down. It turns out that Pattinson will not be starring in the film. The star currently has several confirmed upcoming projects, including Unbound Captives and Bel Ami. Fans can also look forward to seeing Pattinson in the Twilight Saga: New Moon, coming to US theaters on November 20, Remember Me, coming to US theaters on February 12, 2010, and the Twilight Saga: Eclipse, coming to US theaters on June 30, 2010.

Pattinson will be appearing on the cover of Sci Fi magazine's December 2009 issue. The issue features an article on New Moon. Scans of the magazine can be found here!

Jack Hudson, who plays the role of Royce King II in Eclipse, spoke out about Pattinson's fame issues:
"I don't think he gets to hang out with many people because he's sort of jailed to his room. He can't leave without being followed by a hundred people. There's a price to fame. But hopefully he's handling it okay."

Tim Gunn, a Project Runway guru, isn't impressed with Rob's style and doesn't seem to think he's material for any best-dressed lists. While at the Marshall's "Shop Til You Drop" event, Gunn shared his view on Pattinson's style:
"I mean, he could ... he could be stunning, but I think it's a little sloppy for my taste."

Pattinson and his Twilight co-star, Kristen Stewart were seen out and about in Vancouver this past weekend. The duo enjoyed a meal at Pinkys Steakhouse and Cocktail Lounge in the Yaletown neighborhood. Unlike when they were filming New Moon, the cast of Eclipse has kept themselves out of the public light during most of filming. Let's hope that as time progresses, both Pattinson and Stewart get a little more breathing room.

I'm amazed at how some people would try to cash on Rob!!!

Entertainment Weekly has a new article on line about a new DVD coming out on November called "Robsessed." I heard about this in my Twitter community, as you can see, I am a fan of RobsessedPattinson.com. So I checked the web address and my jaw dropped to find out that the original Robert Pattinson's robsessed fan site which was mention above, and is owned by the lovely Gozde,  is now overpowered by this crappy site trying to sell this "Robsessed" DVD.
My recommendation: Don't buy it!!! It's a waste of money
Anyway, here's the full article below:

'Robsessed' documentary: More interested in Pattinson or his fans?

robsessed_lI think we can all agree that Robsessed is a great title for a documentary about the Robert Pattinson phenomena. But my enthusiasm waned when I saw the art for the DVD, which is expected to hit shelves next month in time for the release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. It’s not the slightly shell-shocked image of Pattinson: That amuses me. It’s the tag line: “Inside the life of Robert Pattinson.” According to a rep for the release, the documentary features people Pattinson’s worked with talking about his life, as well as “industry commentators” and “a couple of diehard fans.” Not the ratio I was hoping for. At this point — i.e. post-GQ cover story read along — I’m much more interested in the fans who consider themselves “Robsessed” than Rob. I want to go inside their lives. How does a man who’s given them only a few hours of entertainment come to fill their lives 24/7? How, in the age of the Web, when there’s constant updates on Pattinson, do they handle a day when there’s (gulp) silence? How do they decide they’re going to travel to a different city to try to catch a glimpse of him on set?
Contrary to the number of blog posts I write, I am not Robsessed. But I can tell you that any time I see a link on Twitter to a fan’s story of meeting True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard in Shreveport, where he’s filming Straw Dogs, I click on it. Yes, I’m curious as to whether the shirt he’ll be wearing in the accompanying picture is sleeveless or sheer (either is acceptable), but I’m even more eager to know what lie the fan told to an employee or family member to hide the real reason for her trip; how she determined the best time and location for a possible sighting; why she chose a particular outfit or opening line; who she dragged along with her and what directives that person was given. It’s like watching a TV show with great sexual tension — all about the build up.
Are you with me?
